The New Zealand’s Inland Revenue Department is proposed to phase out the use of cheques with effective from 1 March 2020. Be prepared!

Here’s a summary of other payment options:

1. myIR:  You can make direct debit and credit card payments securely through myIR online services. Visit the IR website and register for myIR.

2. Online banking:  Visit your bank’s website for more information. Select Pay Tax or Tax Payments and follow the prompts or instructions.

3. Credit or debit card via IR website:  Use your credit or debit card to make online payments. Go to the IR website and search for “Make a payment” and select “Pay using credit or debit card”.

4. Westpac:  Pay by EFTPOS or cash at a Westpac branch or Smart ATM.
